Booking and Cancellation
The booking is made between the Manager of the Waves Self-Catering Apartments (the “Apartment”) and the person making the booking (the “Client”).
The Apartment may, at its absolute discretion, cancel the reservation if the Apartment is of the opinion that the reservation information provided is falsified or incomplete.
Any cancellation of a booking by the Client must be notified in writing directly to us at [email protected]. If notification of cancellation is received by us 6 weeks or more before arrival, we will not charge a cancellation fee. The full rental will be due if the booking is cancelled less than 6 weeks in advance, irrespective of circumstances.
In the event of no-show, a fee equivalent to one night’s room charge (inclusive of any applicable prevailing government tax) will be charged to the payment details provided at the time of reservation.
Special terms of offer will be applicable for the respective bookings and in case of conflict, the terms of such special offers will prevail.
Payment
Full payment of the rental due as shown on the booking confirmation must be paid at least 4 weeks before arrival. If a booking takes place less than 4 weeks before arrival, the full amount is due at the time of booking.
If the balance is not received 4 weeks before arrival we reserve the right to cancel the booking and charge for the accommodation.
If you wish to pay cash, payment needs to be made on arrival. Should the booking be cancelled, payment under the cancellation policy below of V-Bay Holdings Limited may still be required.
Duration and Use
Check in time is 3pm daily. The Apartment must be vacated by 11.00am on the morning of departure. Early check in and late departure is subject to availability by prior arrangement only. Late check out may be subject to a fee.
On arrival, a ‘welcome’ pack will be provided which contains wine, milk, tea, coffee, sugar, a selection of biscuits and cereals, black bin bags and dishwasher tablets.
Tea towels, bath towels and bed linen are also included in the cost of the booking.
To reduce our environmental impact, for stays which are longer than ten days, bed linen and towels will be changed after the first week and this is included in the rental cost.
Under no circumstances may more than the maximum number of persons stated on the website or on the booking occupy the property. The Apartment reserves the right to refuse admittance or require the Client to leave if this condition is not observed.
The Apartment does not accept any responsibility for injury or loss of personal effects whilst on the premises. Safes are provided in the property for Client’s to use and store valuables.
Insurance
We strongly advise all clients to purchase full cancellation, medical and personal insurance cover for all members of their party, as well as insurance cover for their belongings. This insurance will also need to cover the full cost of the rental due. Guernsey operates an independent healthcare system and the European Health Insurance Card is not valid in the Bailiwick. This means that all non-local visitors will have to pay for any medical treatment or GP visits at the time of using the service and then claim back from their insurance.

If for some unforeseen reason the property is rendered unfit for letting prior to the commencement of a booking due to circumstances out of our control, the Apartment will make every effort to arrange alternative accommodation. However, if this is not possible or the alternative accommodation is not acceptable to the Client, a full refund of the rental due for the booking period will be provided. This will, however, be the limit of the Apartment’s responsibility in this respect and we cannot be held responsible for any related or consequential losses.
The Apartment shall not be liable for any losses, damages, costs or expenses incurred by the Client as a result of any cancellation of the reservation by the Hotel, other than as set out above.
Other Information
No gatherings and parties of any nature are allowed in the room. The Apartment reserves the right to evict any additional occupants in the room.
The Apartment reserves the right to send guests away due to their conduct and behaviour or for any other safety, security, medical reasons. This applies in particular, if the Client does not observe instructions given by the Apartment’s Manager, acts or speaks in a discriminating manner or otherwise harasses or endangers other guests.
Guests will not be permitted to compromise the health, safety and security aspects of the Apartment at any point of time.
The Client is responsible for ensuring that the accommodation is kept clean and tidy at all times. The Apartment reserves the right to refuse cleaning services in appropriate circumstances.
All accommodation is strictly non-smoking. Any guest found to be smoking inside the property will be asked to leave immediately and will not receive a refund for any monies paid. A charge will be made if extra housekeeping is required to eradicate the smell of smoke and reimbursement of rental if the property is not acceptable for the next guest.
All the assets and valuables of the Apartment should be adequately maintained and should not be damaged or destroyed. The Apartment reserves the right to levy any charges in future if it is proven beyond doubt that such damage/destruction to the asset (both movable and immovable) have been done or caused by the Client.
Management and staff work hard to provide a safe and secure environment and ask that guests do also. The Apartment takes no responsibility for any personal possessions that are lost, stolen or misplaced whilst on the premises due to the acts and omissions of the Client.
Lost property found on the premises is kept in a secure location for a period of three (3) months. Thereafter items are either disposed of or donated to charity. The Apartment accepts no responsibility for contacting individuals in relation to lost property.
Claimed items can be collected with valid identification or alternatively the Apartment will arrange for postage at the Client’s expense.
The Apartment is not responsible for damage or disappearance of vehicles kept in the parking area. Clients park at their own risk.
The Apartment reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. In the event that any changes are made, the revised terms and conditions shall be posted on this website immediately.
